As I've mentioned several times before, I'm scared of flour and of baking. Flour, because I feel like right as I open up the flour bag, it will get everywhere. Baking, because it requires precision - something I lack. Baking desserts also requires using butter, something I avoid in my cooking for obvious health reasons. I found a box of vanilla cake mix that in the pantry this afternoon, and thought ohhh why nottt a little cake never hurt anybody. So, I mixed up the cake mix with some soy milk, an egg, and some butter and actually...BAKED it in the oven. Bonus: I ate some of the batter right out of the bowl :D
Vanilla cake can be boring by itself, so I served it with two favorites: mango sorbet and fresh sliced strawberries.
