Sruthi is out of town this weekend at a conference, so I (Gautam) am posting a guest recipe. This one is unbelievably good but I must warn you, not for beginners! Also, it is a great meal for all times of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night) and especially comes in handy if your main source of sustenance is not around at the time - in my case, this is Sruthi.
- 1 bowl (the bigger the better)
- 1 spoon (try it with a large serving spoon - it will change your life)
- Box of cereal (I prefer anything with the word "oats" or "nuts" in it)
- Milk (soy milk actually tastes great but sometimes give you gas... worth it in some cases)
Carefully open the box of cereal - take care not to tear open the bag inside with too much force as this can often lead to a mess on the floor, an unpleasant sweeping task, and wasted goodness. Pour the cereal into the bowl to approximately 3/4 of the bowl's height - ensure you pour using the open end of the bag (I've tried and it doesn't work well pouring from the opposite end). Pour milk into the bowl (again, carefully!) until the cereal begins to float. Put the spoon in the bowl. Turn on the TV/computer and turn to an episode of either How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Scrubs, the Daily Show, or a late night comedy show. Note that eating cereal does NOT go well with horror movies or any show with unexpected jumps/jolts. Finally, carefully carry the bowl of cereal over to the couch, sit on the couch in a slumped position, and enjoy your hard labor. Repeat this process until either your show is over or you've successfully eaten 3 bowls of cereal.
